The Lithuanian Love Coin tradition is a wedding activity that dates back to a legend of the 1500′s. It involves the bridal party (and others) bringing many silver dollars, half dollars, and quarters and pouring them onto the dance floor. At the end of the first dance, people scrample to bottle the coins for the couple, and at the same time, find the special marked “love coin” to win a dance with the bride or groom.

We have opened our presents, made our returns, made our resolutions and already broke them. How it is time to get back to reality. The big wedding is only around the corner.

Picking the right day and booking up to six months ahead of time is not always going to guarentee you will get the location(s), caterer, or disc jockey DJ that you really want.

The other day, I received a an email to a link by a friend saying that I was about to lose my business. The message posted on a message board explained how to DJ your own wedding. It is true that you could save money, but at what expense? I just thought I would throw a few thoughts at you on why I believe that the professional DJ is needed especially at a wedding, at all costs.

It is funny how a lot of weddings have so many similarities, but can still be good or bad. There are many traditional activities that happen at most all receptions. But these activities alone do not make the wedding reception a night to remember.

From experience, I have learned that the weddings that have had the smoothest transitions from ceremony to reception have been at the same location, or under ten minutes away. I know this sounds simple, but it doesn’t always happen.
